- late 1970's Top of the Pops starts broadcasting music videos
- 1981 MTV created, and invention of colour video cameras, new video editing equipment, and new special effects for videos made Music Videos more popular
- 1984 MTV Music Video Awards launched
- modern times- internet allows artists to share music faster as well as allow fans and other people to express their opinion of their music
some of this information might not be accurate because i found this on wikipedia but it should give a decent overview of some of the keypoints of how music videos became popular. at least it should give some good places to get inspiration for the music videos we are doing.
